KKUS Ltd was established in 2006 by co-owners John Kitson and Nick Keegan, to provide high accuracy surveys to the Utility Industry.
Following successful partnerships with a number of major clients, KKUS invested in the latest GPS/GNSS equipment manufactured by Trimble. Giving accuracies of between 1-3cm in the field, the equipment has been used extensively for Topographical and data capture/as-laid surveys for cross country utility installations across the North West of England and Scotland.
Topographical surveys are undertaken in close liaison with Design Engineers, providing ground levels at specified intervals, capturing obstructions, third party utilities and highlighting potential hazards that may affect the programming of construction on site.
KKUS works closely with all its clients to provide high quality surveys to the specifications required and timescales imposed. All installations surveyed, either in paper format or by GPS are then converted in AutoCAD format to the scales specified and presented to the client for approval.
As part of the company’s growth over the past 5 years, KKUS undertook a design framework to provide detailed water network design for mains rehabilitation projects, taking projects from Site investigation planning through to final as-laid drawing submission on street completion.
As part of the design process, pre-construction surveys are undertaken to locate all existing apparatus, including locating and exposing wherever possible buried ironworks and tracing/marking utilities using Cable Location and Avoidance equipment, as an aid to safe excavating.
Detailed design is undertaken to incorporate into a practical, buildable solution. KKUS are trained to provide upfront design solutions, incorporating cost effective practical designs with minimal disruption to the public.
Risk Assessments and Health and Safety Plans can be undertaken to highlight potential hazards which may impact on the public and work force on site. We provide alternatives to ensure all works are carried out in the safest possible manner to minimise any potential hazards and dangers.
Relying on our wealth of experience using AutoCAD software, we also provide detailed layouts and sections to any scale specified.
We also provide Traffic Management layout drawings showing all barrier, signage and cone layouts as agreed on site with the site engineers and highways departments.
