The award is for the supplier who has made an outstanding contribution to achieve reduction of embodied carbon throughout the project plan, design, build and delivery who has demonstrated a commitment to promote sustained reduction of embodied carbon business wide.
It was the Company’s Nitreat® advanced nitrate removal technology chosen by the @one Alliance, a collaborative organisation, formed to deliver about half of Anglian Water’s capital investment programme for 2010-2015 which was nominated to receive the prestigious award.
ACWA were nominated for, “improving the design, reducing the cost and cutting embodied carbon by 25% for the Nitrate removal Plant” and for “eliminating standby capacity, including reducing the number of pumps and valves, removing superfluous equipment, rationalising access and egress requirements and minimising pipe runs to reduce the footprint of the building and achieve a carbon reduction”.
